IEEE IAS provides its almost 14,000 members with professional influence. And in nations such as Bangladesh, where industrial development and reliance are escalating daily, it has become imperative for students to gain access to these industrial engineering resources. Consequently, the IEEE NSU Industry Applications Society has set as its objective the simplification of this knowledge among students with the help of seminars, sessions, events, and industry tours. We promote the dissemination of information in our respective fields and develop technical standards. IEEE North South University Student Branch Chapter was formed on 9th June 2018 as a chapter of IEEE North South University Student Branch. Since day one, the priority of this foundation is to validate the collaboration between students and corporations. To achieve this target, the society members are working with their full potential to set a benchmark for the future. The society has also participated successfully in the very first summit of the IEEE Bangladesh Section Industry Application Society. Besides organizing events, they also have arranged several workshops which were instructed by professionals from different organizations.

One of the key celebratory events of IEEE DAY is to embrace the new members. Thus the students getting recruited as IEEE Members from the on-spot recruitment will experience an eventful day dedicated to greet them and get them familiarized with IEEE, INSB and the infinite perks of being an IEEE Member.

III. A day with the Deprived
A day with the Deprived will be an outreach program to reach out to the most underprivileged people in society. INSB in collaboration with IEEE NSU IAS SBC will be visiting a school with students from the underprivileged community and shall spend the day with them. It will be a day filled with fun activities. Also, INSB will provide them with some daily necessities to make their life a bit easier.
Interacting with them will provide a valuable experience which will help the future engineers to create and invent to solve their problems.

    IV. Industrial Tour
One industrial tour will be arranged in collaboration with IEEE NSU PES SBC with the aim to help the students broaden their outlook with exposure to different work-forces through the industrial tour and their applications, know about national and international standards, as well as get acquainted with the latest technology the industry has to offer.

    V. Football Fiesta
It has become a tradition for INSB to organize Inter IEEE Student Branch Football Fiesta as a part of IEEE DAY Celebrations on 12th of October.

It is a football tournament that aims to improve the connection among the participating student branches. The tournament taking place at North South University will witness 8-12 teams under Bangladesh Section. Only the IEEE members of different branches are eligible to play in this tournament. The winner and runner-up teams will be awarded attractive prize money.

    VI. Whoosh!! Without Wheels!
IEEE NSU RAS SBC will be organizing a locomotive robo race excluding the use of wheels in the robot. This challenge is all about justifying whether the competitors can push their boundaries. The robots can walk, crawl, slide, and jump etc. during the race.

Example: Let’s think of robot like spider which can walk. The movement of the legs of the spider can be done by some 180 degree servo motors. Eventually the spider robot will be able to walk.

    VII. Membership Benefits Session
It is important to remind the new and old members about the widespread and extensive beneficial domains of being an IEEE Volunteer. Therefore, there will be a presentation competition among the existing old members of INSB where they will be describing a specified topic that depicts the benefits of IEEE Membership. This event is going to take place on the 21st of October and aims to inspire and motivate the members to retain their membership and aware them about the conveniences, they are exposed to.

VIII. A seminar on Modern Programming Languages
This will be a technical talk session where the functionalities of modern programming languages such as higher order functions or lambdas, concurrency, co-routines etc. will be discussed. This session will help the students to understand which new programming languages they should pick in this day and era for their everyday programming challenges.

    IX. Closing
A grand closing ceremony will be held to close the celebration of IEEE Day 2019. The winners of different contests will be declared and awarded in this session. The program will end with the IEEE Day Cake cutting and group photo session.

Keep an eye on the event page to know about the events which will be updated soon!

    Workshop on Graphics Design

Do you want to give new dimension to your creativity???Or do you want to put in colors to your imagination?? Then let us introduce you to the world of visual communication and communication design.
The most awaited Graphics Design Workshop of this Semester is here!!!
The term "graphic design" is used synonymous. Graphic designers create and combine symbols, images and text to form visual representations of ideas and messages. They use typography, visual arts, and page layout techniques to create visual compositions. Common uses of graphic design include corporate design (logos and branding), editorial design (magazines, newspapers and books), way finding or environmental design, advertising, web design, communication design, product packaging. If you want to improve your skills of creativity and also want to work in corporate fields you should definitely learn Graphics design.
Thinking about that, WIE Affinity Group, IEEE NSU Student Branch in collaboration with WIE Bangladesh Section is organizing “Workshop On Graphics Design” on this coming 27th July, 2019.

Our instructor for the workshop will be Rubia Siddiqua.

Zero Robotics: International Space Station for Bangladesh

IEEE NSU Student Branch, WIE Affinity Group in collaboration with Office of External Affairs, NSU and Robotics & Automation Society, IEEE NSU Student Branch Chapter are going to organise this event on 10.03.2019 from 11.30AM at NSU Auditorium.
For more than a decade, the International Space Station (ISS) has provided hands-on educational opportunities that encourage students to transcend passive learning, engaging them as interactive participants. From 2000 through 2012, there have been more than 42 million students, from 44 countries involved in different STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) activities aboard the space station. Unfortunately, Bangladeshi students did not get this opportunity. We strongly believe that Bangladeshi high school students are intelligent and more than capable enough to join the Zero Robotics tournament, which is the only robot programming tournament available to students that runs inside the ISS. The world is becoming increasingly reliant on virtual communication, Artificial intelligence, Big Data analytics, and hyper-connected people through internet technology. If Bangladesh is to become a global front-runner in those sectors, we must start by encouraging and educating the youth through opportunities, like Zero Robotics, which foster real world expertise. The translatable skills that children will develop during their participation in ZR will prepare them for success in any field because this has the capacity to transform Bangladesh in all sectors.
There will be two parts of the event: In the first phase there will be a quiz competition and in the second phase our respected speaker Mizanul Chowdhury, Professor, MIT, USA will share his knowledge about zero robotics among us.
