Computing for Green Wheels and Grids

IEEE NSU Power and Energy Society Student Branch Chapter

In the push for a greener world, computer science and power engineering can team up to make a real difference. Using fancy algorithms and data crunching, Computer Science helps us figure out where we're wasting energy and how we can do better. It's like having a smart buddy who knows how to optimize our power systems, seamlessly integrating solar panels and wind turbines. And with smart grid tech, we can talk about real-time monitoring and control to reduce energy waste and boost efficiency. Plus, computer science is beefing up cybersecurity to keep our power grids safe from digital threats.

In celebration of IEEE PES Day 2024, themed "Empowering Electric Mobility Innovation," IEEE NSU PES SBC, in collaboration with the IEEE NSU Student Branch and IEEE NSU SB WIE Affinity Group is organizing a seminar titled “Computing for Green Wheels and Grids”. The seminar will feature Saif Ahmed, Adjunct Lecturer of the ECE department of North South University and QA Programmer of Invisible Technologies, as our keynote speaker. Scheduled for the 24th of April, celebrating the 7th PES Day 2024, this program will provide insights into the potential of Computer Science to play a vital role in developing a sustainable environment.

Let's deep dive into how we're using computer smarts to drive greener energy practices, supercharge EV performance, and shrink our environmental footprint. Get the inside scoop on how future PES members can ride the wave of computing tech to lead the charge in making our rides and power grids more sustainable.
