Event organised by IEEE NSU Robotics and Automation Society Student Branch Chapter
In collaboration with IEEE NSU Student Branch
We reside in a city plagued by severe pollution, with harmful particulates and gases constantly present in the air. Failing to implement precautions such as adequate room ventilation, mask-wearing, and air purifiers poses significant health risks due to exposure to these pollutants. Therefore, it's crucial to understand how to monitor air quality and take appropriate measures to safeguard against inhaling harmful substances.
So how can we monitor such gases that are practically invisible to the naked eye? Well, IEEE NSU Robotics and Automation Society SBC in collaboration with IEEE NSU Student Branch, has arranged an Automation Workshop titled “Basic Automation Workshop on Air Quality Monitoring System” which will cover some of the basic sensors that will help in measuring the indoor air quality and also some recommended automated actions that can be implemented. Since its inception, IEEE NSU RAS SBC has striven to educate students, produce enthusiasts, and ensure that students have the opportunity to innovate, learn, and explore robotics and automation for them to become passionate about it. Therefore, IEEE NSU RAS SBC wants to empower the students through an interactive workshop on a very new yet fun aspect of automation. Through this workshop, the participants will receive hands-on experience in taking measurements using sensors, taking proper actions through automation, and also get an idea about how to start off with this interesting and revolutionary field.
Topics that will be covered are as follows:
Introduction to Air Quality and its Importance
Introduction to Arduino Nano
Introduction to Sensors
Digital Read and Digital Write
Analogue Read and Analogue Write
Sensor Reading
One hands-on example of an Air Quality Monitoring System
Note:
** Participants can form groups of a maximum of 2 members or can participate solo as well. Each participant has to complete registration and pay registration fees individually. Each group must have at least one set of equipment (link given below) and a fully charged laptop. Participants can purchase their own equipment or contact us if they are unable to do so.**
