Research is significant because it will help you know where to find different types of information to solve engineering problems in your career. Writing a research paper can also be a huge opportunity to explore a topic that is particularly interesting to you. As an engineer, you will require to research engineering guidelines, standards, and other sources to prevent engineering failures.

The process of publishing a paper may help inform a future career path and illuminate opportunities that may otherwise have not been considered. It may pique a student's interest in pursuing publishing or graduate studies as the next step after completion of an undergraduate degree.
