
Zero Robotics: International Space Station for Bangladesh.
The event “Zero Robotics: International Space Station for Bangladesh”, is organised by Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group(AG), IEEE NSU Student Branch in collaboration with the Office of External Affairs, NSU and Robotics and Automation Society (RAS), IEEE NSU Student Branch (INSB) on 10 March 2019 from 10:15 am to 01:00 pm at main Auditorium of North South University. Zero Robotics is an international high school programming contest where the robots are SPHERES (Synchronized Position Hold Engage and Reorient Experimental Satellites) inside the International Space Station (ISS). This event was an excellent opportunity for Bangladeshi students to know about Zero Robotics, and it encouraged the students to transcend passive learning, engaging them as interactive participants. About 150+ students and five faculty members from Hurdco International School attended this event and helped make this event successful. There was two Phase of the event, in the first phase there was a quiz competition among the school students. The second phase was the inspirational talk, and it’s the main attraction which was started with the welcoming note by Prof. Atiqul Islam, VC, NSU. Next, the special guest, Prof. Jahangir Alam, Former VC, CUET delivered his valuable speech. After that, the chief guest and honourable speaker Mr Mizanul Chowdhury works at MIT as a System administrator and Architect for Zero Robotics project under the Department of Aeronautics Astronautics-(MIT), USA shared his knowledge among the participants. The event ended successfully with the speech of Prof. Dr G.U. Ahsan, Pro VC & Dean, School of Health & Life Sciences, NSU.
